Χρονικές λέξεις - εκφράσεις: 

• Για τη στιγμή που μιλάμε: 

now (τώρα), right now (ακριβώς τώρα), at the moment (αυτή την στιγμή), Look! / Listen!(Άκουσε! / Κοίταξε!)

π.χ. I'm writing now. = Γράφω τώρα.

• Για το παρόν:

 today (σήμερα), this week (αυτή τη βδομάδα), this year (φέτος), at present (προς το παρόν)

π.χ. This year I'm going on holiday with my friends! =

Φέτος θα πάω διακοπές με τους φίλους μου!

• Για το κοντινό μέλλον - σίγουρα:

tonight (απόψε), tomorrow (αύριο), next week (την επόμενη εβδομάδα), in ten days (σε δέκα μέρες)  etc.

π.χ. She's watching the news tonight.

Αυτή θα δει τις ειδήσεις απόψε.

Κάποια ρήματα (stative verbs) δεν παίρνουν ποτέ την κατάληξη  -ing: know (γνωρίζω), believe (πιστεύω), understand (καταλαβαίνω), hope (ελπίζω), like (συμπαθώ), love (αγαπώ), prefer (προτιμώ), hate (μισώ), dislike (απεχθάνομαι), remember (θυμάμαι), forget (ξεχνώ), want (θέλω), wish (εύχομαι), see (βλέπω) κτλ.
